Vlad Ionescu

Vlad Ionescu is postdoctoral fellow in architectural theory at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts (Hasselt University). He previously studied philosophy of art at the University of Leuven where he defended his thesis on modern art historiography, focusing on the work of Aloïs Riegl, Heinrich Wölfflin and Wilhelm Worringer. Between 2009 and 2013, he co-translated and co-edited the series Jean-François Lyotard. Writings on Contemporary Arts and Artists (Leuven University Press). He has published on art and architectural theory in journals such as Architectural Histories, Journal of Art Historiography, Cultural Politics, A+, Esthetica, Deleuze Studies, ARS and he is the author of Applied Arts, Implied Art / Arts Appliqués, Art Impliqué (A&S books).
