The buyer must accept the following 'General Terms and Conditions of Sale' in order to validate the digital order form. Other or contrary terms and conditions of the customer, even those mentioned on his order forms or other documents, shall be deemed unwritten, unless they have been expressly accepted by us in writing, in which case they shall apply only to the contract to which they relate. Under no circumstances can our silence be interpreted as an acceptance of other terms and conditions.

Any questions about these terms and conditions may be directed to Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) via the general contact details provided on this website.

Protection of your data

When orders are placed, the customer's address information is added to an automated database. These details are intended only for use by Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) and will not be communicated to third parties. In accordance with the law of 8 December 1992, the customer retains the right to inspect and correct data at all times.

Prices

All prices listed on this website include VAT and exclude shipping costs, unless stated otherwise and subject to printing errors. The shipping costs shown in the shopping basket concern deliveries in Belgium. For deliveries abroad, the shipping cost will adjust accordingly after entering address information.

The prices are valid on the day the website is visited. They may be modified on the website without prior notice.

Ordering procedure

Visitors to the Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) website may place an order by successively completing the following steps. This is the only way to create a valid digital order form.

Product selection

The catalogue can be searched through the search engine. More information about each product can be found on the product sheet. All products offered on the website are described in good faith and as accurately as possible. The product can be ordered by clicking on the 'Order' link, depending on the type of product.

Number of copies

After selecting the product, you decide how many copies you wish to order. By default, the number is set to '1'.

Identification of the visitor

If the purchaser is not yet logged in, he must identify himself during the ordering process in order to be able to order the products in the shopping basket.

An error message will appear if certain input fields are entered incorrectly.

Confirmation of your order

After identification, a summary of the order is displayed, including billing and delivery details.

At this stage of the order procedure, all data can still be changed.

Only after clicking on 'Finish order' is the order completed. The customer receives an order confirmation. The customer will also receive a summary of the order by e-mail.

After this, your order is final and no further changes can be made. If changes still need to be made to the order, any additional costs will be charged to the customer.

Special conditions e-books

Preliminary

The terms and conditions below regulate the legal relationship between Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) (NV) (hereinafter referred to as "ASP") and the customer (being the natural or legal person who has entered into an agreement with ASP and undertakes to ASP on that account, hereinafter referred to as the "Customer"), with regard to the sale of e-books (hereinafter referred to as "e-book" or in the plural "e-books").

By placing an order for an e-book through an online connection, the Customer (1) accepts these terms and conditions without reservation, (2) declares that he has read and understood these terms and conditions in full, (3) undertakes to comply with them and (4) acknowledges their validity as a document signed by the Customer. If the Customer does not accept these terms and conditions, the e-book may not be used and the Customer must immediately sever the online connection. If the e-book has already been downloaded via the download link received by the Customer, in the event of non-acceptance, the Customer must immediately stop using it and destroy all copies of the e-book in his possession or under his control. If one provision of these terms of use is inapplicable, or conflicts with a mandatory legal provision, such inapplicability shall not affect the validity or applicability of the other provisions.

The present terms and conditions are special terms and conditions (hereinafter "Special Terms and Conditions") that relate solely to the purchase and use of e-books and are to be supplemented by ASP's General Terms and Conditions, which remain integrally applicable to the legal relationship between the Customer and ASP and to which the Customer declares to agree with their content. In case of contradictions between ASP's General Terms and Conditions and these Special Terms and Conditions, the latter will prevail. ASP's General Terms and Conditions can be consulted on ASP's website (www.aspeditions.be) or can be obtained from ASP upon simple request.

Offer, conclusion of agreement, delivery, download

ASP's offers and price lists do not imply any obligation/commitment on the part of ASP and may be withdrawn at any time. Obvious mistakes or obvious errors in the offer do not bind ASP.

An Agreement will be established the moment an order confirmation has been sent by e-mail to the e-mail address provided by the Customer. ASP and the Customer explicitly agree that a valid agreement will be concluded electronically. The absence of a written, ordinary signature does not affect the binding force of the offer and its acceptance. ASP also reasonably assumes that the person placing the order and thus accepting the offer is also entitled and competent to bind the Customer.

The delivery of the e-book takes place when the order confirmation with download link for downloading the e-book is delivered to the Customer via e-mail, this is within 24 hours after the order was placed. By sending the aforementioned e-mail, ASP has fulfilled its delivery obligation. If the Customer has not received an e-mail message from ASP within 24 hours of ordering the e-book, or if the download link does not work, the Customer should immediately contact ASP's customer service department via info@aspeditions.be or by phone on 02/289 26 56.

As soon as the aforementioned e-mail with download link is delivered to the Customer, the Customer can download the e-book 5 times within a period of three months, starting from the day of receipt of the aforementioned e-mail. After reaching 5 downloads or the expiry of this three-month period, the possibility of downloading is no longer guaranteed.

Use of e-books

Conditions for use

In order to use and read e-books on his mobile device and/or his computer or laptop, the Customer must have adapted software provided by third parties. ASP reserves the right to modify unilaterally and at any time the usage methodology and delivery process of e-books. If the Customer uses third-party software and/or applications for consulting the e-book purchased from ASP, ASP is not liable for the correct functioning of such software and/or applications, their availability and consequences for downloading and using the e-book.

Use of e-books

The e-books are intended for personal use by the Customer only, on a maximum of five different personal devices of the Customer. The Customer may not copy, sell, distribute, transmit, translate, distribute, display, reproduce, publish, rent, lease, sublicense, license or otherwise transfer the e-book in whole or in part

Prices and payment

The Customer is obliged to pay the price stated in the order confirmation it receives. Obvious errors, manipulations or mistakes (such as obvious inaccuracies), may be corrected by ASP even after the conclusion of the Agreement.

No right of renunciation and right of return

There is no right of return on the purchased e-book and the Customer cannot exercise his right of renunciation. Once the agreement is concluded, it cannot be dissolved.
