Payment of an order is done during the ordering process.

Any invoice not paid by the customer-debtor on the due date will automatically incur interest of 1% per month with a minimum of the legal interest. All invoices not paid by the customer-debtor on the due date shall, ipso jure and without notice of default, as from the second reminder, be increased by 12.50 euros in administrative costs as compensation for the costs resulting from the late payment. All other costs incurred by Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) for collection from the customer-debtor such as costs for registered mail, travel expenses, bailiff's fees, lawyer's fees, etc. shall be charged automatically and must be reimbursed by the customer-debtor.

Delivery period

The indication of delivery dates does not, on our part, imply any guarantee. Under no circumstances can a delay give rise to the payment of damages or the dissolution of the agreement.

Damage and loss of the product

In accordance with the Belgian law of 14 July 1991 on commercial practices and consumer protection, the burden of damage and loss risks falls on the distance seller.

Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) guarantees that the products and accessories are delivered in good condition. Any damage must be established by the customer upon receipt, and notified in writing to Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) within eight days, failing which the customer will have accepted the delivery in its entirety. Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) undertakes to replace the damaged copy with an undamaged one free of charge.

Cancellation of order

An order may be cancelled in writing within 14 calendar days from the date of the order. In case of cancellation of the order, the customer shall owe a fixed compensation amounting to 40% of the value of the order.

Right to cancel the contract

In accordance with the Belgian law of 14 July 1991 on commercial practices and consumer protection, the purchaser, in his capacity as consumer, has a period of 7 working days from the date of delivery of the order to give notice that he is cancelling his purchase.

This notice of withdrawal may be given by e-mail, fax or registered letter.

The return of the product(s) concerned by the purchaser shall take place within 3 working days after sending the e-mail, fax or registered letter of renunciation.

Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) will refund the amount of the order in question upon receipt of the returned product(s), provided the product(s) in question are in perfect condition.

The shipping costs for returning the product(s) shall be borne by the buyer, except in case of non-conforming delivery.

Liability

Subject to the explicit undertakings made by Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) pursuant to these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, the liability of Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) shall be limited to the liability mandatorily imposed by law. Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) shall not be liable for indirect damages, such as loss of data, unavailability of data, loss of turnover, loss of profits or any increase in overheads. Nor shall Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) be liable for defects caused directly or indirectly by an act of the customer or a third party, whether caused by fault or negligence. If the liability of Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) is withheld, Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) is only obliged to replace the goods and, if this is not possible, to refund the price.

Competent courts

All disputes arising between Academic & Scientific Publishers (ASP) and the customer will be submitted to the courts of Brussels. All contracts are governed by Belgian law.
